031008

I'm tired of numbering days. I totally get lost.

From last time, she's been really whiny when it comes to eating and very hyper as well. Honestly, I don't think the turkey and her get along.

For the past two weeks, basically, she's been whining to go out in the early morning hours which is rare for her. She usually sleeps through the night. She likes sleeping through the night, honestly.

This morning she did her bile thing again. And then politely went back to sleep as if nothing happened. She never acts different after these episodes, it's just so shocking; still scares me a lot more than her.

I'm going to try feeding her at like 10, and then around 3, and then give her like a piece of chicken wing right before bed or something.

However, this time I'm questioning just because she did have milk right before bed (she stole it) and it had been sitting out for hours (because I'm lazy) and that could've upset her stomach even though I feel like she should've thrown up from that way before 5 am in the morning.

240908 - Days 14-18

Okay. I started her on the turkey which she was doing fine with (I gave her her first piece of turkey on Sunday). And this morning, to no real surprise, she had serious diarrhea.

I probably just gave her too big of a piece of turkey neck. Those turkey necks are really hard to divide as some pieces are like a day's meal and others are too small for even one meal.

She woke up at 4:30 am with diarrhea and then at 6:30 am had some foamy vomit. She's never done it before but at 7 am when I took her for a walk she was perfectly fine and playful and she isn't appearing to be sad or anything. The problem with foamy vomit is that after 30 minutes, I won't see it and I have a full day of classes today as well. (Only about 6 hours but still)

Usually I give her a bit of apple/apple sauce but I didn't for the last few days so I probably should start back on that which definitely firms up her stool pretty well.

As far as the vomiting, I've heard it could be because of a serious intake of water, diet change, hunger, etc... but not to be seriously worried if it is the first one. It is the first one. So I'm going to give her a twenty-four hour grace period (i.e. if she throws up again tonight or if I come back to diarrhea in her cage), I'm definitely calling the vet tomorrow.

Actually... I think she's done it one time before. It was about three-four weeks ago then and I freaked out but when I tried to find the vomit I never found anything. So it was probably that - and probably good that I didn't know too.

190908 Days 4-13

My computer crashed. So no lovely updates about my dog's new diet.

However, she still eats the same thing. Some apple sauce here and there and chicken wings. On Sunday, I'm starting turkey necks too.

Her poo is normal aside from a very mucousy poo around day 10 which surprised me a lot and is still completely normal.

No poos in the cage, few pee mistakes as well. Overall she's doing excellently.

090908 - refresh and day 3.

Okay. After some brief trials on my first start on the raw diet (running smoothly for two weeks and then derailed by serious bloody diarrhea) I am back on the trek.

As for right now, I am ONLY feeding her chicken for about two weeks.

Monday her diarrhea was regular but today she started with serious diarrhea and mucousy stools. According to several sites that I have consulted, this is completely normal. I, however, should take it a bit slower. So her daily diet thus far?

She eats at 10am and 5pm.

1 chicken wing. (broken in half for morning and night)

I also gave her a bit of Kaopectate for her sudden burst of diarrhea. The vet prescribed it the other day; said that when her diarrhea starts, give her a little bit every 8 hours. It takes an act of congress for her to take it but I try.

Puppy.

This is officially my puppy's raw diet blog. I intend to record everything - daily - about how we are working with this new diet.
